During this time of the year, most of us are in a holiday festive frame of mind. It starts with Thanksgiving and goes through the New Year. However, for some of us this is a miserable time of year, it brings back memories of losses, the sense of loneliness and parts of our history when life seemed better than it is currently. However, I believe that if we stop to think about it in a different way, we may see that we are all where we need to be at this present point in time and moment. After all, history is a combination of our past and we would not be where we are today without traveling our individual journeys.

The “Good News” for me is whatever other faith persuasion may be, I think this is a season of hope; whether as a child when our hopes were for a special toy or an adult when our hope is more about what tomorrow might bring. We all share in this same “hope”. So as we come to the end of the year, may we all find peace in the hope of this season and move forward with high expectations into the new year. This is also a time for me to reflect on the work that we do at TRC and to thank the special staff people who works tirelessly to fulfill the vision and mission of the Board of Directors of the agency. I also thank the many contributors who continue to believe in the mission of the agency. We have great plans for tomorrow as we move into our next phase.

Sincerely

Patricia Abrams
