Development

As a Community Housing Development Corporation (CHDO), The Renaissance Collaborative creates and preserves affordable housing and economic development projects that strengthen and revitalize our community.

Below are the projects we’re working on for the benefit of the residents of Bronzeville, Washington Park, and neighboring communities.

Current Projects

"Green" Workforce Center

TRC is in the early stages of developing a workforce center down the street from our headquarters. A net-zero building, all energy used will be produced on-site.

RAD 2 Conversion

This housing contract with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) will preserve the affordable rent prices of The Renaissance Apartments for at least 15 years. It will also allow us to renovate the units and communal spaces.

Abrams Intergenerational Village

The second phase of the Senior Village Project will be erected kiddie-corner to Senior Village 1. AIV will be an intergenerational supportive housing site with a focus on supporting “grandfamilies” a.k.a. seniors raising dependents.
